Hello!
I am a local Art teacher who recycles and upcycles many items that are destined for the trash. I provide containers for the items and collect them, when full or on a schedule, per your choice. If you come across any other items that you think we could use, that would otherwise be thrown away, please contact me. Diverting these items from the landfill helps decrease your trash bills and benefits the earth and everyone on it!
We upcycle and recycle the following materials:
Broken dishes, mugs, glasses, bottles, of all color, shapes and sizes: used for mosaics.
Broken umbrellas, tents, tarps: the fabric is upcycled, any parts that are reusable are upcycled, and the metal parts are recycled.
Unusable/stained/ripped fabric: sheets, blankets, shower curtains, towels: used for sewing projects and rag rugs.
Types of Clothing: any size leggings, XXXL clothes, socks of any size: used for sewing projects and rag rugs.
Crayons of any size, shape, color and brand are melted down and recycled into new fun shaped crayons.
Crayons only please, no markers or colored pencils. Markers can be recycled at Staples. Colored pencils cannot be recycled.
